Games review: Ghostbusters

The original Ghostbusters are back, complete with voices from Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd, who starred in the original films. This adventure game, exclusive to the PS2 and PS3 until the autumn, is set in the Manhattan of 1991 and casts you as a rookie ’buster who must trap ghosts. The graphics are neat and there are some nice touches, such as a health indicator on your backpack. The game is ultimately let down, though, by its complicated ghost-catching techniques, a repetitive storyline and shoddy camera positioning, which can prevent you from having a clear shot of your targets. Indeed, smashing up the scenery with your proton gun is often more fun than regular gameplay. Best left to ardent fans of the films.
