Why are farmer's markets so expensive?? The meat comes from the same fields as a butchers, the fruit & veg from the same orchards & fields as the greengrocers, so why the extra expense??

thats nice... living in deepest londinium we dont have the luxury of fruit and vegetable growing locals and therefore must use things like these farmers markets to get the freshest produce
james, london,
Who needs farmers' markets? Out here in deepest Andalucia, our neighbours are constantly dropping by with the ripest and juiciest tomatos, potatoes caked with soil, green peppers, onions, aubergines, black figs, rabbits (ready for the pot), green beans, cucumbers, a freshly-made goat's cheese .....
Judith Sharpe, Aracena, Spain
