Road to Rio (1947, b/w)
BBC Two, 11.20am
The longest of the seven travelogue capers co-starring Bing Crosby and Bob Hope, Road to Rio adds a Hollywood sheen of exotic South American flavour to the formula. In between rescuing Dorothy Lamour's damsel in distress from the clutches of her aunt, Hope and Crosby swing by the tourist hotspots and sing with the Andrews Sisters. (100min)
Dirty Pretty Things (2002)
BBC One, 11.15pm
In Stephen Frears's excellent topical thriller Audrey Tautou and Chiwetel Ejiofor (right) play struggling members of London's invisible army of low-paid immigrant workers. When Ejiofor discovers a human heart blocking a toilet in the hotel where he works, they become entangled in a sinister illegal network. With delicious irony, the Oscar-nominated screenplay was written by Steven Knight, co-creator of Who Wants to be a Millionaire? (97min)
The Killing (1956, b/w)
More4, 12.10am
The stylish B-movie that established Stanley Kubrick's reputation is a taut noir thriller about a fraught racetrack robbery. Sterling Hayden plays the world-weary criminal mastermind who orchestrates the heist, only to be scuppered by a treacherous love triangle involving a crooked track worker, his femme fatale wife and her adulterous lover. (89min)
The Godless Girl (1929, b/w)
Film4, 1.45am
Cecil B.DeMille's final silent movie is a bizarre teenage parable about faith, love and tolerance. Lina Basquette and Tom Keene play duelling gang members, she an atheist, he devoutly religious, whose violent clashes land both of them in a hellish juvenile jail. The Godless Girl was an expensive flop for DeMille, but its lurid and melodramatic action stands up well almost a century later. (113min)
