This week sees the final stages of the only cycle race most of us have heard of, the Tour de France. Garnering an ever-growing following in the UK it is - for some of us - a confusing cavalcade of practically indistinguishable cyclists and support vehicles. Furthermore, the various stages of the race themselves, to the untrained eye, all look a bit similar. A bit, dare we say, boring? What if the Tour de France could be livened up by having the competitors being buzzed by an enormous UFO? Perhaps culminating in the abduction of one of the front runners? Even a gigantic game of petanque that threatens to crush one of the less sporting riders might make the affair a bit more exciting for neophytes such as ourselves.
